We are, quite literally, made of water. It follows then that vibration would affect us on an elemental and intrinsic level. The profound impacts of both sound and silence show up all around us in day to day life. Consider your emotional response to music, the dawn chorus or the earth shattering silence of a rural night sky. Notice then, how that translates into your body in those moments; sensations of calm, joy, awe or peace.

My journey with both sound and silence has been life-long and my path into gong was, at first, a personal exploration of why these have had such powerful impacts on me. Through my training with The College of Sound Healing though, I came to realise what a gift it was to be able to connect people with vibration and felt called to offer this out for others to be able to explore in the way that I have.

Whilst being a deeply spiritual person, I have also always been curious to understand the world around me, how things work and what good or harm they might do. Gong is often referred to as a 'alternative' modality but a greater body of science around gong and sound work is emerging and to date, associations with deep relaxation through activation of the parasympathetic nervous system have been discovered along with evidence of theta and delta brainwaves during gong meditation sessions. These are the same brainwaves which occur during deep sleep and it follows then that gong be associated with many of the widely documented restorative and beneficial effects of sleep itself.

I have no doubt of the power of work with sound and vibration and have both experienced and been witness to both subtle and profound shifts through it. My work aims connect sound with the other most elemental forces in my life; nature, softness, silence, words and community.

I work with gongs, singing bowls, voice, poetry and drum, forever deepening my connection to sound and silence in order to offer this outwards. The fullness of this work is such a gift to me. I so hope to pass that gift to you.
